The developer says sov8 will not surppost 64bit OS. However we have a plan to do so in the future.

Thats sad, i already know one person who wants to use TAV that cant because of 64 bit xD
Re: v8 will not surppot 64bit OS
aww, that is said, What are the features planed for the up coming beta?
Re: v8 will not surppot 64bit OS
As far as I know, the new version will include these features:Brocke wrote:aww, that is said, What are the features planed for the up coming beta?
1. Gene virus-definition. This can help decrease the amount of virus-definition. Thus twister can have a smaller virus-definition file to keep it smooth and quick.
2. Sandbox. This is widely uesed. However, I think twister's sandbox is smarter and more efficient. "Light weight" is the key point of Twister.
3. Improved FDD. Maybe something like threatfire.
BTW: The nearest version is twister 2010, and it said that will come out in two month.. It is a version like V 7.x. The version after Twister 2010 is V8.
Just be patient and wait.
Of course, we can not expert one of these feartures can 100% ensure the safty. However, Filseclab can put all these together to 99.99% secure your PC.
Hope the words above can fully express my meaning.

Re: v8 will not surppot 64bit OS
Sad news for me. I am using Winx64 and i was hoping that after the initial x32 release they would make a x64 version too...
I guess i will not be a Twistee for a long time...
What a shame...

Re: v8 will not surppot 64bit OS
To Brocke & MaB69,
The traditional "sandbox" works like a virtual machine(VMware, Virtual PC 2007), at least the traditional anti-virus softwares' sandbox works like this. They cost lot of memory, and make the PC heavy.
Twister will not works like this. I think it will give a strict "protection" to the "key area" and stop the "dangerous actions". This Twister's sandbox can not "roll back". By using this with "genetic" and FDD, can reach a better security level.
All the words below is my personal opinion, has not been approved by developer yet:Brocke wrote:Thank you for the info, How will the sandbox work? i mean i know how a sandbox app works but how will twister's sandbox work?

Thx for your answer, i think too that a mainly restriction based sandbox (GeSWall for example) is far better than a pure virtualization one (like SandboxIE)
In expactation of contact from Filseclab staff to start beta testing.
